Kenneth Waltz’s 1981 monograph-The Spread of Nuclear Weapons: More May Be Better-presented the first detailed and forceful set of arguments in favor of proliferation.’ Since that time, however, a significant number of rational choice and neorealist political scientists have jumped onto the pro-proliferation bandwagon. A prominent group of political scientists have pointed to the apparent contradiction between a peaceful nuclear past and a fearful nuclear future and argue that the further spread of nuclear weapons will be a stabilizing factor in international relations. New nuclear powers, with similar characteristics of rivalry, are considered unlikely to maintain stable deterrence. On the other hand, it is also widely believed that the continuing spread of nuclear weapons will greatly increase the risks of nuclear war. The two superpowers avoided war despite a deep geopolitical rivalry, repeated crises, and a prolonged arms race. On the one hand, it is widely believed that nuclear weapons were an important factor in maintaining the ”long peace” between the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War. ANyone else try using lines other than mono?Īnd as Northlander stated, a good rod holder is the way to go. I haven't had enough time to see how well this plays out yet, but this season I'll find out how well it works. The theory is that the small diameter "superline will "float" less than 10 pound mono, therefore keep your bait on the bottom with less line behind the boat. But on one of my reels, I put on a smaller diameter Power Pro line. Now that I think about it I dont think I have ever been accused of being the latter! ![]() Thats why I would rather be really lucky at times than really smart. Beware though cause like I have said before, just when ya think you got them on "Lock" something always seems to change and make you realize your really not as smart as ya thought. Lots of experimenting on the water in all types of conditions is the only way to learn really. ![]() Then what Im using for bait will dictate as well as does how the fish are biting. If Im bouncing live bait rigs its even slower than a small spinner rig. Maybe once I find a really active pod of fish I will but not too often. I usually dont pull too many spinners on the big lake because its just too slow of a approach. Inland I go slower than I would on Lake Superior where the blades I use are usually much bigger and flashier. When trolling spinners it depends on blade types and sizes as well as if Im going with or against current. My trolling speed depends on several things. Make sure the wire is not only bent over but wrapped where anything connects. Lots of cheap ones out there that wont last ya long or will be a pain to use. Make sure the Bouncers you buy have a swivel on them and are quality components. I run Diawa Sealine Linecounter reels on them and love those reels. I like to keep the clicker on and set the drag light enough so that if a fish hits I can hear a click or 2 of line going out. This helps so the fish dont feel too much tension and gives me a bit more time to get to the rod wich I usually have in a Ram Rod holder. I use my Lake Superior Planer Board Rods for my bottom bouncing as well. They arent 100% snag free but the best I found so far for being snag resistant.Īs far as line on my bouncer reels I usually run 10# or 12# Trilene XT. If I dont need that much weight or Im fishing shallow I use the Lindy No Snag Sinkers. My most often used bouncer size is 2-3oz. It should be just hitting bottom not dragging. Use a heavy enough bouncer so that your line is 45 degrees at the most. ![]() We haven't used crankbaits on bouncers a whole lot, but hope to this spring. I made her a 6 foot copper rig, and she outfished me. My 4 foot copper spinner rig out-performed my wife's 3 foot gold colored spinner rig. motor to keep on track.Įxperitment though. Sometimes I'll pull crawlers without the spinner drifting with the wind and current, using the t. ![]() Lake Vermilion will soon have a slot limit, so fishing deeper than 25 feet will have to end to release healthy walleyes.Īs for speed, usually enough to get the blade to spin. I usually use the 1 oz or 1 1/2oz slip bouncer, it's the heaviest they make. Weight depends on the depth, the deeper you go, the heavier bouncer you'll need. Leave the spool on frespool with thumb tension to feel for those bites. Although, I have boughten some real nice loking rigs online. I make my own rigs with 10 pound fluorocarbon, and use a baitcasting setup rather than spinning. For trolling spinner rigs and crawlers, I use those Rock-Runner Slip Bouncers, they slide on the main line like the Lindy rig then clip on a 4 to 6 foot spinner rig. By shifting security left to development, businesses that embrace CNAPP will be able to reduce the risk of breaches and regulatory penalties, lower the total cost of fixing vulnerable applications, and help engineering teams deliver secure cloud native applications faster. This is accomplished by providing developers with a consolidated view of cloud native application security risks and the information they need to fix known vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, behavior violations, and compliance issues in their own tools and CI/CD pipeline. CNAPPs consolidate a large number of previously siloed capabilities, including container scanning, cloud security posture management, infrastructure as code scanning, cloud infrastructure entitlements management and runtime cloud workload protection platforms.” 1īuilding on the concepts and principles of DevSecOps, the vision of CNAPP is to address cloud native application security risks as much as possible in the development and testing phases of the SDLC before applications go into production. “Cloud-native application protection platforms (CNAPPs) are an integrated set of security and compliance capabilities designed to help secure and protect cloud-native applications across development and production. The CNAPP category first emerged as a category in the 2021 Gartner® Hype Cycle™ for Cloud Security, where CNAPP was defined as follows: Source: Innovation Insight for Cloud-Native Application Protect Platforms, Neil MacDonald, Charlie Winckless, 25 August 2021. In this blog, I’ll share my research on the category, trends that are shaping the market, and thoughts on how the category will evolve over time. However, the vendors and tools in the AST category were designed before cloud native apps or Kubernetes existed and are still primarily used for traditional monolithic applications.Īfter some research, discussions with industry analysts, and conversations with Deepfactor customers, it was clear that Deepfactor was more aligned with the principles and philosophy embodied by the emerging category called Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP). One of the first questions I asked myself was “What category does Deepfactor fit into and what are the trends that are shaping that category?”Īs an innovative new company that was built to help developers create secure cloud native applications, the first thought that came to mind was applications security testing (AST). When I first joined Deepfactor, I set out to learn as much as I could about the relevant markets and technology categories to inform our go-to-market strategy. ![]() Steep Learning Curve for Advanced Features: While Airtable's basic functionality is intuitive and user-friendly, I found that some of the more advanced features and capabilities require a steeper learning curve. Chemical formulas and equations are also represented using those symbols. For example, the element with atomic number 110 was named as ‘un un nilium’ with the symbol 'Uun', now it is named Ds.Īs far as students are concerned, it is important to study all the 118 elements with their Symbol and Valency. The elements which are new are temporarily named according to their atomic numbers. When the symbol representing an element is denoted by one letter only, it is written in uppercase.Įxample: 'N' represents Nitrogen, 'O' represents oxygen, etc. Example: 'Ca' representing Calcium, 'He' representing Helium, etc. The first letter of a symbol is capitalized with the second (or third) letters being in lowercase. Rules or Conventions followed to denote the Element using Symbol The symbol 'Fe' is used to denote Iron, as the Latin word for Iron is "Ferrum". Hence gold is denoted by the symbol ‘Au’. Some symbols of a few elements are derived from their Latin or Greek names. One may ask, ‘How is the symbol of an element derived?’ We can see in the table above that most of the symbols are derived from the elements’ names, by taking either the first or first two letters from the English name of the element. Some symbols have three letters, they generally represent synthesized elements newly, with some being temporarily named like that. Example: Elements in group 1A are soft metals that react violently with water.Ī symbol representing a chemical element is a 'sign' or 'notation' that generally consists of one or two letters. Elements arranged vertically in columns are called ‘Groups’ and elements arranged horizontally in rows are called ‘Periods’.įurther elements are grouped as per periodic trends and properties. The chemical formula and proportions must also be used for those properties. Symbols are often used to represent objects in a timeline. If an item mark contains only one letter, it is always capitalized. The first letter of the mark is usually capitalized while the second (or third) letter is usually written in small letters. These memes jokingly involve people of high political standings and imply them as having been behind the killing. The first of which is memes which deal with the killing of Harambe having been a conspiracy. Harambe meme come in a few distinct categories other than the exacerbated mourning of internet trolls. Regularly posted about their animals, could not handle the intense amount of spam and ridicule they were receiving and were forced to delete their twitter account. In fact it is exactly this unrestrained expression of sarcastic sorrow that forced the Cincinnati Zoo to delete their twitter account.įollowing the killing of Harambe any post made by the zoo was inundated by these burlesque mourners. The Washington post wrote an article concerning the nature of Harambe memes “The idea is, the more intense and more sincere-seeming the expression of mourning is, the funnier the joke”. The underlying characteristic found in most standard Harambe memes is an excessive and absurd mourning or tribute to Harambe’s life. But as the meme gained traction Harambe became a vessel for animal rights activists, political ideas, and standard meme humor. The original round of memes mocked the mother of the child and the zoo officials who shot Harambe. The Harambe meme consists traditionally of a picture of Harambe, or any gorilla, accompanied by humorous, ironic, or sardonic text. Yet today he is known to most internet meme aficionados as the most successful meme of 2016. He was tragically killed the day after his seventeenth birthday. He was transferred from Gladys Porter to the Cincinnati Zoo in 2014 to integrate him into an adult gorilla group and develop his social skills. Harambe was born in the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas. The zoo ultimately decided to kill Harambe so as to ensure the safety of the child. Such behaviors are performed by male gorillas in territorial stand offs and by females in defense of their young and usually precede violence. Zoo officials claim that Harambe displayed aggressive behaviors, referred to as “strutting”, through his stance and the manner in which he walked. Footage taken by witnesses to the event show Harambe picking up the child and violently dragging it through the water. The two females in the enclosure quickly exited the Gorilla World Exhibit however, Harambe, a male western lowland gorilla, ignored zoo staff and went to examine the boy. Zoo officials immediately signaled for the gorillas to exit the enclosure. ![]() ![]() The incident occurred at 4:00 pm EDT on when a three year old boy climbed the three foot tall fence enclosing the gorilla pen and fell into the moat.
